Intrigued by chest ribbons worn by active duty service members, a series of 53 military ribons were reproduced on 12″ x 24″ canvases with acrylic paint during the five month period November 2022 to March 2023. The paintings were selected from ribbons based on their overall design and color combinations. The re-created paintings are in proportion to the original ribbons. Paint colors match the original ribbons and are those dictated by the military’s Institute of Heraldry color pallette.
